I'll be touring

Thanks to the awesome Anna Dase at Read Between The Lines (RBTL), I'm going on my very first blog tour! Yep. I'm so excited! I haven't done this before and it's been a cool experience so far.  Anna has made it really pretty easy and worry free.
So, for other newbies like me, what is a blog tour? A blog tour is when you, the author make virtual guest appearances at several blogs. This means that you, your book or series, or guest post would be featured by a hosting blog. It gives you, the author a chance to make an appearance at several stops and highlight different parts of your work to a community you otherwise may not have had contact with.
For my tour, I decided to go with a stop about once a week. But, at RBTL, Anna is able to work other types of schedules that would fit your goals better.  For me, I'm more on the quiet side (most of the time) and being that this is my first time, I wanted to get a feel for how it works once everything is live.
Being a newer author, marketing has been one of the hardest things to do. I really don't get it... Marketing doesn't come naturally to me, like it does for a lot of people. But, what I'm learning is there's lots of different ways to do it and I'm trying to find something that works for me and my personality.  I would say, Blog Tours may be something I add to a scant list of marketing ideas I would do again.  If you're in the same boat, I can TOTALLY understand your marketing frustrations. I have them too. If there's anything I can offer in terms of advice -- it's this: Don't give up!
Keep trying. If your dream is important, don't let it go. Success is built on the foundations of lessons learned from failures and mistakes.
Your dreams will come true before you know it! Besides, you're not alone :) There's many of us with you.
