Who is The Order of the Anakim?

You will see this compass on all of The Order of the Anakim books.

Why?

This is The Order's insignia. The image is laden over different rooms of The Order's estate, but most especially in the Elders' Chamber where the leaders of the kin community gather to make important decisions.

In Gathering Storm, the compass is described in detail. The compass is actually multicolored with each of the major cardinal ray having a different color and stone associated with the Archangel who looks after each sacred domain.

The compass symbolizes the eternal pillars of balance upon which The Order was founded. It's a fragile balance, but one that is true and comes from the center of all direction which is Love. The compass also represents the 4 Archangels. Or in my books, the Great Angels.

Why is that important?

The Anakim all possess powers or abilities. Their powers are tied to or influenced by the elements also associated with the directions of the compass and the great angels. Like, Jarron. He's my main character. He is a Fire Strong Anakim, with a strong connection to Archangel Michael. Both Fire and Archangel Michael rule over the cardinal direction of South.

The Order is made up of Anakim men and women who have chosen to dedicate their lives to battle demons. By choosing to serve. Guardians of The Order continue to fulfill the sacred vow to protect humans, but they are also giving others of their kind a chance to live normal lives. Let's face it, being a Guardian, is physically demanding, mentally exhausting, and honestly, heart breaking. Would-be guardians begin their training as young teens to learn to hone their abilities. Some Anakim may start much earlier if their powers prove  too strong to live at home -- like Caleb who started when he was only 7 years old.

The original Anakim were the first children of the Nephilim. Unlike their ancestors who were mostly angel, modern day Anakim are mostly human. But angelic blood runs strong which is what gives them their abilities. But because they are part human, they are not immortal. Unfortunately, they can suffer and die. But that is what makes what they do that much more significant. They feel all the good feelings of being human, but they are also burdened with all the bad.

But what drives Anakim, unlike a regular human is the ancient vow made to the Creator(s) by the forefathers to help protect humans. This calling is internal and cannot be ignored. Even those outside The Order, though living "civilian" lives are still protective of their human counterparts.

And so, after hundreds of generations of Anakim guardians, the battle to protect humanity continues.

Evil doesn't rest. Evil doesn't forget. And neither can The Order.

If only the humans they are so willing to die for actually knew of the sacrifices being made to protect their souls...

The series is their story. I hope you enjoy it.
